TEAMWORK

 

Teamwork is one of the main objectives of any Team Building session and most of the companies we worked with assessed the teamwork as an essential element in achieving the organizational goals.

“Teamwork” is defined by the Webster dictionary as a the common action of a group of persons, where each is subordinating the personal interests and views for the team unity and action effectiveness.  Individual doesn’t loose importance – but the effective teamwork transcend the personal achievements and the maximum effect occurs when each contribution is harmonized to achieve common objectives.

 

A FEW CHARACTERISTICS OF A HIGH PERFORMANCE TEAM

1. OBJECTIVES

    The team objectives must be clear, measurable, concise and agreed by all the members.

2. RESULTS DRIVEN

    The team must be encouraged to obtain the established results by its own means.

3. COMPETENCE

    A perfect instructed team, with all members knowing their roles, matching their competencies. 

4. INVOLVEMENT AND COHESION

    Not necessarily a total agreement in decision taking process, but a positive and constructive attitude.

5. COLLABORATION

    Only an atmosphere of trust can generate the mutual respect needed to perform. 

6. HIGH STANDARDS

    The team members must understand exactly what they are asked for and what the team should accomplish.

7. SUPPORT

    Encouragements and rewards are necessary on both levels: for the team and for the individuals.

8. LEADERSHIP

    Obvious, the team have to have a leader - but he will work for the team – and not the other way around.
